About Us

The Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe is dedicated to saving and improving the lives of pets through adoptions, community spay/neuter services and humane education programs.

We follow strict policy of adopting out every healthy adoptable animal that comes to us.

Our long-term goal is to build and operate a public animal shelter and education facility.

We house our animals at the shelter operated by Town of Truckee (directions by Google Maps). We hold adoptions there on Saturdays from 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm, and on other days by appointment only.
