How to Adopt

Our homeless animals are boarded at the Town of Truckee Animal Control center and in foster homes provided by our volunteers. But that provides only a temporary solution for our animals.

The real solution is for people -- people like you -- to provide a permanent home for our animals.

How can you adopt a pet?

Review our Adoption Policies.
Check our pages that show the animals we have for adoption, and call to let us know who you would like to see. We also have monthly adoption days at the Town of Truckee's animal shelter, where people can meet all our animals.
Complete an Animal Adoption Application (download it).
Meet for a personal interview (required before any adoption).
Sign an Animal Adoption Contract (download it).
Take your new pet home for a life of love.
