We do many of our animal adoptions through weekly adoption days held during Open Shelter Day at Truckee Animal Service's shelter. Adoption days are held every Saturday, noon to 2 p.m., at the Truckee Corporation Yard. You can also meet with our Animal Programs Manager, Nanette Cronk, by appointment Tuesday through Friday, by calling 530.581.3199.

Since we don't have a public shelter from which we can show pets, this is our opportunity to get out and meet people. We also show our adoptable pets throughout the week by appointment.

Every pet adopted from the Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe will be spayed or neutered, vaccinated & microchipped. Our adoption fees are as follows:
Dogs (over four months) = $100.00
Puppies (under four months) = $150.00
Cats (over four months) = $75.00
Kittens (under four months) = $100.00

Adoption fees will be due upon completion of adoption. Cash, check or credit cards (except American Express) gladly accepted.
