A service to help feed Truckee-Tahoe’s community pets

Our Pet Pantry acts as a safety net to ensure that Tahoe pets stay in their loving homes, and are not surrendered to the shelter due to financial strain. Pet food and supplies are available to community members to help supplement care regardless of circumstances. We’ve partnered with local social service groups to provide multiple distribution locations for community members, available basin wide.

Truckee food pick up is available at HSTT’s Pet Pantry everyday from 8AM until close (please call ahead after 5pm, as our hours sometimes change due to staffing shortages). Two bear boxes are located outside of our shelter with food and supplies to pickup, when available. The Truckee Animal Shelter is located at 10961 Stevens Lane in Truckee.

Purchase Nature’s Select

Purchase all-natural, healthy, holistic food with a 20% discount and have it delivered directly to HSTT’s Pet Pantry through Nature’s Select of Northern California. Visit https://nsnorcal.com/rescue-donations/humane-society-of-truckee-tahoe to purchase both dry and canned food for dogs and cats. All pet food purchases will be used for our community’s pets in need.

You can select from HSTT’s wishlist on Chewy, and your donated gifts will automatically be delivered directly to our shelter. Shop HSTT’s Chewy Wish List here. Additionally, if you decide to shop Chewy for your own pets, HSTT earns $15 for every new customer who makes their first purchase from Chewy using our referral link.

Monetary donations will be used to keep our lifesaving programs and services, and the staff that run them in place during the epidemic. Helping homeless pets find the loving homes they deserve is still our main priority and we will continue focusing on helping every pet that comes our way. Additionally, once HSTT shelter and clinic operations return to normal, demand for our services; low- and no-cost spay/neuter, free vaccinations and microchips services will be higher than ever before. Please support our programs and staff.
