Expanding our community’s access to a variety of adoptable pets.

The Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe is able to offer a large variety of adoptable animals due to our extensive foster program. Our foster program allows us to rescue far more animals than our small shelter can accommodate. Volunteer families provide a loving environment for HSTT pets to live and learn in while awaiting adoption. Our Foster Program also provides socialization and training for homeless pets, which helps them become well mannered and, therefore, more adoptable.
